Shop news

The much anticipated golf simulator has now arrived. This state of the art simulator has endless functions. Some of the Benefits of the simulator are:

It's Weatherproof

While a driving range can provide a nice sense of how the weather is for that day on the course, a golf simulator is available every day, rain or shine. Since it's set up indoors, you can practice your swing during foul weather or when it's too hot to be outside.

Time

Another huge benefit of using a golf simulator is that you don't have to put 4 hours + into a round like you may be used to when playing a course on a busy Saturday morning. At this indoor facility, an 18-hole round of golf takes the average group of golfers about 2 hours to play at a cost of £24 per hour. The best part is that £24 is the cost of the booth and is not the price per individual. Applying some simple math, £48 divided by four golfers…£12.00 each!

Wide Variety of Courses

The simulator offers you a menu of courses which include some of the classic tracks like Pebble Beach, Torrey Pines,The Old Course at St. Andrews and many more. The realistic 3D graphics on the over-sized screen provides you with a feeling of being right there on the course

Measures Gapping

Knowing how far you hit each club is a great benefit on the golf course. The Simulator measures the average distance you hit each club as well as highlighting any irregularities between your clubs in, most importantly, a controlled environment.

Pricing

- A 30 minute gapping analysis with Steve Roberts (Professional) - £20
- A 40 minute lesson - £25
- Booth Hire - £24 per hour

Any Members who would like to have a free trial on the simulator may do so.

From today there will be a (Free of Charge) nearest the pin competition with the chance to win a dozen golf balls for the closest shot. Each Member will be allowed 3 attempts and the closest one will count. Please note the competition will end on Sunday 31st July.

The Open

Heroic Henrik

The golf world has run out of superlatives for Henrik Stenson, who claimed his first Major title at Royal Troon last weekend - what a final round we were treated to. Has there ever been a more impressive final round in Open Championship history?

Both the Swede and 2013 Open champion, Phil Mickelson carded 63s around the famous links, but it was Stenson - who shot his 63 on Sunday - who prevailed, despite the American posting a hugely impressive 65.

On any other day, Mickelson would have been celebrating his sixth Major. To put their scoring into perspective, Mickelson (-17) finished three shots shy of Stenson but 11 clear of JB Holmes in solo third.

It was a two-horse race for the Claret Jug before they teed off on Sunday, but few people could have expected them to surge further clear in the manner they did. If you've been on holiday and haven't checked out the highlights yet, be sure to do so, it was something else.

Hopefully that's got the juices flowing for many of you to get out and play, no doubt these two super pros have inspired many young golf fans watching on, it really was sport at its very best.

So, three down, one to go… that's the PGA Championship next week.

Throw in the Olympics and the Ryder Cup and there's still a lot of fantastic golf to look forward to. If they're half as entertaining as events at Royal Troon, we're in for a treat.

If you have been inspired to get out and improve your game during this weekend's action then get in touch here and we can book a session in to help you on your way.

This week is meant to be superb so come down and enjoy the sunshine.

Stenson win

The 145th Open Championship saw Callaway’s Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson go head-to-head in a Sunday showdown that will go down as one of the greatest ever – it really was some display of ball striking. We’re used to seeing the Swede use that much-loved 3-wood of his, but we also saw him use his XR driver to devastating effect at Royal Troon.
